Seriously VC should cut the announcements to 25% of content and find a different person to make them. Several passengers were plugging their ears and even fellow crew members cringed when she began speaking. She literally recited every menu item, shore excursion and brand of booze available duty free. It was water rage inducing, for the most part unnecessary, and repeated several times. Cons: incessant announcements by a nasally voiced woman virtually screaming into the PA. Convenient: depart downtown seattle arrive right in the inner harbor near hotels. Scenic: when the windows are clean, great views. Organized: boarding is fast and efficient. Pros: Fast: 30 knots for most of the trip making the trip in < 2.5 hrs. this was their turn around trip, they had just brought passengers over from Seattle who likely experienced the same thing. They truly were the unsung heros on the sea yesterday. I cannot even begin to say how impressed I was with them. And they did it all with compassion and professionalism. They emptied garbage cans that people were using and cleaned messes that most could not handle. They went from person to person bringing them cool rags, fresh bags and taking the full ones (you know what I mean), and checking on them over and again. They did what I could not have done for sure. So many people were horribly horrible sick. Within 15 minutes people were getting sick, bad. The staff was not exaggerating, as soon as we took off we were rocking and rolling. I had already taken mine! Unfortunately for many people, they were not listening. They were very clear with their announcement that they were expecting rough waters and large swells and highly suggested the motion sickness pills for preventative measures. ![]() This time there was plenty of space on the boat as it wasn't sold out, which was nice to able to stretch out. Yesterday (Saturday) was a completely different scenario. Thank goodness it was smooth sailing and everyone seemed to do well. ![]() They made announcements suggesting motion sickness medications and provided it for free to all passengers, however I came prepared as on occasion I get motion sickness out of nowhere. They were very efficient at getting everyone boarded and got us to Victoria on time, even with rough weather. The ride over on Friday from Seattle on the Clipper was 100% booked, not an empty seat to be had.
